A hat-trick by Dynamos striker Chadley Edwards and the continued good form of the youthful South West Phoenix side were the major talking points following Sunday’s South West Soccer Association fixtures. Kev Holden’s Phoenix side sit on top of the ladder following their 2-1 defeat of Dalyellup. The aerial prowess of Phoenix centre back Ollie McGee proved to be vital with a headed goal either side of the half time break.
Dynamos comfortably accounted for Hay Park 5-0 in their clash at Forrest Park courtesy of goals to Edwards (3), Kosta Koukouva and Corey Barclay. Though the Parkers were able to control passages of the game the ball winning ability of Dynamos midfielders Dave Murphy, Bish Patel and Tristen Kinkella proved to be the difference between the two sides.Â
In Margaret River the home side grabbed an early lead through striker Angus Dowding against Busselton City. But in the second half the visitors controlled the tempo of the game through Mathis Wieler and Beau Haynes. After goalsneak Martin Ryan equalised on the hour Busselton had a few chances to grab three points but some good goalkeeping by Mike Lane kept them at bay.
In the other game Dunsborough were convincing in their 5-1 win over bottom-placed Australind.

The Ladies competition posed a number of interesting questions with premiership favourites Hay Park United being very fortunate to share honours in a 1-1 away draw with a promising Margaret River outfit. Ava Wilson scored midway through the first half before Hay Park evened the scoreline through Michelle Gibson.In another surprise Dynamos upset the previously unbeaten Busselton City 3-0. Leading 2-0 at half time Dynamos encountered a more competitive Busselton in the second spell but were still able to score through a long range effort late in the game. League leaders ,Australind took the points in the other game with a hard fought 3-2 win over Dunsborough.
